case studies
In this section you will find a number of current projects that Quon is undertaking.
Borogrove, Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria, Australia
Status : In Town Planning
The Borogrove house is currently in town planning. Borogrove is a beautiful property in the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria, Australia. The client decided to place Quon on his sensitive site due to its thermal qualities and incredibly short builder time. The fundamental issue that made Quon the best solution was due to the sensitive nature of the site. The client is currently undertaking a regeneration process to repair the site through replanting of native vegetation along with revitalising the creek. A typical build period would damage the site extensively as numerous trades people move over the site for an extended period. This was an unacceptable situation. Quon provided the client with the ideal solution to tread lightly on this wonderful site. Quon will be installed within a 2 day period with a single visit from an electrician and plumber. No running around trampling precious vegetation for months on end and no dump bins full of waste. Quick, efficient and smart.
The Borogrove house has achieved an 8 star energy rating and is completely off the grid and self sufficient, making it one of the most environmentally friendly houses in the world.

Weary Bay, Far North Queensland, Australia
Status : on going
Along with the multiple of benefits involved with using Quon modules, the Weary Bay client decided to use our solution due to the restrictive access to her site. The site is in an isolated area of the North Queensland coast, 200km South of Cairns along bumpy dirt tracks. Quon was by far the best choice for the site. The client could not get builders and trades people to travel to the remote site. They were also were reluctant to have a typical on-site construction as, similarly to the Borogrove house, it would damage the site.

King Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Status : on going
The complete
antithesis of the Borogrove house. This site is in the dense centre of Melbourne, atop a 7 storey building.
The massive site restrictions required a building solution that could be erected in an extremely short period to minimise disturbance to King Street and to avoid closing down any part of the existing building. The perfect answer for this problem was of course Quon. 9 Quon Modules will be fixed to the roof top overnight saving a huge amount of time and a staggering amount of money.
